A Full Day

I slept in today--and by slept in, I meant woke up at the same time but didn't get out of bed until a couple of hours later.
When I finally did get up I went downstairs and ate breakfast, and then at about 9:30, Mama-chan took me to a place about five minutes away to make some pottery. It took me back to my kindergarten and elementary school days; it was good to make something like that with my hands again. It takes about three weeks to bake and glaze the pottery, so I won't have to worry about taking them home with me and them breaking in my luggage. Mama-chan says she's going to send them to me when they're done--just another example of their insanely selfless hospitality. I really need to make sure to send them lots of American goodies when I get back.
After we were done at the pottery place, we swung back home to pick up Misato and then drove up north a ways to visit one of Mama-chan's friends to make our very own soba from scratch. It was really cool and more labor-intensive than you'd think, since you have to spend such a long time kneading the dough and all; but, again, getting to make my own stuff with my own hands (well, mostly Mama-chan's friend's hands, but I helped out for like ten minutes or so) just made it that more fulfilling.
Anyway, Mama-chan's friend's place is further out in the country, surrounded by all his plants and food that he grows, so it kind of felt like we were out in the middle of a forest and provided some awesome scenery while we ate. He even gave us some yogurt with blueberries that he had grown himself, which were sweeter than any blueberries I've ever tasted. It was a delicious lunch!
We went home and I went back up to my room to watch some more Batman (on season four, which is taking some getting used to because the art is different and some of the character's outfits/appearances have changed, though the voices are luckily the same), and  ended up falling asleep.
A little after I woke up from my nap, Mama-chan came upstairs pretty frantic and told me that obaa-san had fainted and that she had called an ambulance and so was going to the hospital and asked me if I would be okay at the house while she was gone. Of course I would be fine, but I was just more worried about obaa-san. I thought she had fainted from the heat, because it was really hot out today; but they came back an hour or so later and it ended up being because she just hadn't eaten anything in a while. Obaa-san is fine now, she just had to have an IV and get some nutrients in her. I was really relieved when they came home and told me everything was okay.
We had a small dinner 'cause we were still full from the soba, and then I went on an hour-long bike ride, came home and showered. Now I'm killing time on the internet before I get sleepy and go to  bed. Tomorrow Misaki is coming back for the day from Yamagata, so I'm excited to get to see her again!
