Over the Hill

Over half way through, whoo-hoo! I`ve got a little over three weeks left here, and I am really looking forward to getting home even though when I do I`m going to be freaking busy. I`ve got GUIDE training that starts the day after I get back, then that same weekend I`m moving in to an apartment with Edie and Megan (YAY!), and then I have to kick my ass into gear to finish my Harley Quinn cosplay for NDK. It`s a good thing I`m getting used to going to bed late and waking up early here.
Anyway, here`s what I`ve been up to the past couple of days.

June 29
Nothing noteworthy about school today, except I`m getting really sick of children. Ugh.
After school was out I went home, ate dinner, and then went to meet Will at the train station. There were a bunch of random high school girls sitting in the Yumeria when we walked in, and one of them shouted out `Herro!` Not to be stereotypical or anything, but that`s really what she said.
Anyway, Will and I talked with them for a bit while we waited for Andrew to show up, and then I got antsy so we went outside and walked down the street and ended up meeting him a bit further down the road. We went to a pachinko parlor called Zest and Andrew and Will tried it out (since I didn`t bring my wallet, and even if I did I probably wouldn`t have spent money on it), and they won a bit of chocolate. Will and I went home a little after that, while Andrew stayed behind at the parlor so he could play Beat Mania.
It was raining, not hard, but enough to get me pretty damn drenched by the time I got back to the Tamiya`s. I don`t mind the rain, but I do hate how humid it is because my skin is just always so sticky, it`s uncomfortable. Needless to say  I was happy to shower off and get to bed.

June 30
Same morning routine. First period at school was with the fourth graders, then first, then fifth and sixth. I don`t mind the fifth and sixth graders so much (actually I kind of like them), but first, second, third and fourth graders are just too obnoxious. They`re loud and like to scream at everything the teacher says, not to mention the whole invading my personal space thing.
Anyway, I got pulled into the gym to play at recess again, but because I was pretty obstinante about just sitting, I got a group of students to just kind of sit around me and ask me questions about America, while one of the girls even randomly started giving me a mini shoulder rub, which felt pretty good because my shoulders hurt from lugging my backpack and suitcase around all summer.
I was able to leave school after I ate lunch since I didn`t have any afternoon classes, so I was done by like 1:30. I went to the train station to wait around and kill time until I could meet up with Will and ended up taking a nap on one of the benches. Then I rode over to Will`s and he let me use his Skype account to call Mom. I`m really glad I got to call her, it`s been forever since we`ve talked (mailing doesn`t count since you can`t exactly hear each others` voices), though it was a little hard for me to hang up when I had to get going back for dinner.
I biked home in the rain again, and ran into Yuka and Takako (I don`t know why I`ve been calling her Tomoko all this time) on the way home.
Got home, killed some time before dinner, then played with the kids for a while before I showered and went to bed.

July 1
Hello freaking July, finally! This past week has gone by so slow, it`s annoying.
This weekend is going to be fun. Saturday me, Andrew and Will are going to go cherry picking at Yamadera in Yamagata, since one of Andrew`s previous host families know people who own a farm down there. Then we`re gonna hang out with Todd-sempai in the afternoon, and on Sunday I think we might be doing a mini Fourth of July thing.
Anyway, I was done with school after lunch again today, so I biked home and cooled down a little before Tamiya-sensei drove me over to his high school to talk with the English teacher there for a bit. Since I`m done early again tomorrow afternoon, and Tamiya-sensei thought it might be cool for me to get to go to a high school for once, I`m going to head over there after I`m done at Hokushin and help out with one of the English classes. I`m pretty excited to see what a high school is like.
Anyway, I also got to meet a woman from Canada who is also teaching at Tamiya-sensei`s high school. It`s always good to meet fellow English-speakers here!
Tamiya-sensei dropped me back off at home after showing me how to bike to his school from Hokushin, and then I took a nap in front of the AC, then woke up and played some cards with Sonomi, catch ball with her and Hiro, and then some Mario with Sonomi before dinner.
After dinner I went on an hour-long walk because it had finally cooled down, and I like to make use of the time when it isn`t raining to get outside and walk around. I got home a little after 8, showered, talked with Sonomi and Chihiro for a little bit and went to bed.
